Gallery Of Glass For Sale - Outlander Vessels - Outlander Tall Open Flame Lamp

Ordering, Postage, Payment, Import Duty & Safety   Outlander Vessels By Season

This Tall Open Flame Oil Lamp dates to the mid to later 18th century and has an oblate spheroid-shaped oil reservoir above a short cylindrical chamber for the wick immediately above a drip tray.

The stem is formed from a lengthened bubble of glass shaped into a biconical form between a blown collar and a flat merese above a small basal knop and a wide, domed foot. The handle has a thumb-piece and is shaped to fit the fingers.

Wick Holders Wick in position

Each lamp is supplied with a brass wick holder and a short length of flat 11mm wide wick. The wick holder is based directly on an original one. We fit a small, thin cork to the underside to hold it in place.

For other styles of tall lamps that we have in stock, see this page.
