Roman - Pyxis Bottles (PYXB)

These vessels were blown at our wood-fired furnace. As they have not been reintroduced into the furnace for any length of time, their outer surface is not dulled. It retains its shiny, fire-polished appearance. Look at the large photos by clicking on the thumbnail photos.

We do not make Pyxis Bottles to order - these are individual vessels that are in stock and can be purchased as seen.

Pyxis bottles date to the mid to late 1st century CE.

The bodies are blown in the same mould as normal pyxides (for details, see our 098a Pyxis page).
