Pots and Breakages

Pots
Over the six days of glassblowing, we replaced virtually all of the pots each day: twelve larger, oval pots and eight smaller, square pots.

Although we have to accept these losses, and have always treated these pots as throwaway, as they are cheap and quick to make, we will see if the electric kiln we have bought to keep them warm overnight will make a difference!

Collars
Although two or three collars broke, we will be able to repair them using the high temperature filler. This has relieved us of the constant need to replace them, and has saved us a large amount of time.

The collar on the left-hand side of the furnace is vulnerable, has broken several times (see photo), and needs reinforcing.
